Hello Hapi People!
I am sure you are perplexed by the title of today's post, but I promise you are in for a treat. I made a recent discovery on Spotify (an app for phones and computers) that I think is so cool: Spotify has many
audiobooks, of classics, that you can listen to! I am a paying member of Spotify, but I'm sure you can listen to them as a free member as well. I am a big Pride and Prejudice fan and have read the book twice before and seen the 2005 film adaptation more times than I can recall. When I discovered the audio tracks of the book being read, I had to listen. The recording was very good quality and I finished it within two days. I am a recent member of the audiobook listener club and I love the idea of listening in the car or before bed.
Whether or not you are a reader, I think listening to books
is an easier way of getting into classics, rather than reading. Having someone reading it
to you can make the flow of the story easier and you can follow along with your own copy. I also know many high schoolers and college students may have to read the books available on Spotify. I know when I took literature classes I would have LOVED to have this at my disposal, so I am sharing it with you today. Below is a playlist that features some classic literature, short stories, and even poems that are commonly part of reading curriculums. I hope that it is helpful for your reading
endeavorss, whether you're reading for work or pleasure. (I
am personally attempting to listen
to all of Jane Austen's novels.) I would also recommend listening to or reading your books poolside or at the beach, it makes it much more enjoyable!
I hope that you are enjoying your summer and that you give listening to some classic literature a try.
Stay Hapi,
Amy
