Summer Road Trip Playlist
I was driving to see my boyfriend and have lunch with his grandmother, Nonna, today - hence why this post is coming out later in the day. Anywho, I was looking for music to listen to on my hour long drive and I discovered a playlist on Spotify. Spotify, a music app, creates a #ThrowbackThrusday playlist every week and sometimes they are ok but I gave this week's a try and I was blown away. The playlist was a mix of 60's and 70's, rock and folk music. I was impressed because it was filled with music that I grew up on from my dad's influence. The list consisted of a well-blended vareity of songs I had not heard in many years, and included exclusive interviews with members of The Grateful Dead. I was taken back to childhood and summer days, as I drove through the country. I will leave the link for the playlist below so you can use it for your summer road trips. I had a wonderful day spending tome in the country and having southern food with people I love.

New Blog Look! featuring Pugly Pixels
Hello Hapi People!
I'm sure you have noticed something is different ... no it's not my hair. I updated the blog design! Isn't our Hapi Place pretty?! I personally think its awesome and I put a lot of satisfying work into it. I wanted the blog to be more organized and unique in design. I knew the only way to make it unique from the templates that Blogger gives you in its editor was to use ... coding. AHH!!!
DUN, DUN DUN!!!

Dancing on Tv and Living in the Moment
Hello Hapi People,
You may or may not know that the TV show So You Think You Can Dance premiered last night (June 1st). I have been a big fan of the show for a long time and wanted to share my love with you all. If you follow me on Twitter (to which I am brand new), you may have see me for the first time Live Tweet the premiere. I felt a little strange doing it, as I was trying to update my thoughts and followings whilst watching and appreciating the show. It was a bit hectic. I thought it would be a cool idea to just share with you my love for the show. However, I believe in totally immersing yourself in something and being present is the best way to enjoy it. I am not dissing Twitter (do people say diss anymore?) but updating my thoughts and following other tweeting while watching the show was so distracting to me. Maybe I'm just behind on the times but I'm just giving my opinion. Only being 24 I don't think I'm completely detached from what's trending. Yet, if we are so concerned about being minute to minute on what everyone else is doing or documenting in the middle of a memory ... are you fully engaged mentally and enjoying the moment?

A Word You Didn't Know Existed ...
Hello Hapi People!
I hope, if you are in the U.S., that enjoyed a three-day weekend or that work wasn't took bad on Monday. If you aren't in the U.S. I hope the week started off well for you.
Today isn't going to be a Wreck This Journal post but I do want to talk about something that was inspired by my Wreck This Journal. On one of the pages in the journal you are asked to "Write One Word Over And Over". For my journal I wanted to use a unique word that had significant meaning to me. I gave my word a lot of thought and scoured the interwebs ... and when I found it, I just had to share it.

Makeover! - featuring Salee Starbuck
Hello Hapi People!
I know I didn't post yesterday, I'm sorry but if you follow me on Facebook you know that life got a bit crazy. I apologize for not posting but I hope this makes up for it. I had the opportunity of doing one of my favorite things yesterday ... MAKEUP & HAIR! Lol
I'm so excited to share these photos with you from yesterday. I partnered up with an old friend, Salee Starbuck, for a photoshoot. Salee asked me to do her makeup and I gladly accepted. I am glad I got to work with her and help enhance her lovely features and complexion. I hope you all enjoy the pictures. I have always enjoyed doing makeup and hair, so if you guys like this and want to see more let me know.

My Life in Stills
I hope your week started off right. I know yesterday's post was a bit heavy and maybe controversial so I thought I would switch gears today. (You never really know what I might throw at ya lol!) I thought I would take the challenge of documenting my day in pictures. Not a typical thing I do, I'm usually someone who would rather be in the moment than documenting it. However, I think picture taking makes you stop and really see what you are doing - maybe even appreciate something mundane. I just had a busy day of unexpected things but thought I would share it all with you. It was a bit of a roller coaster weekend so taking the time to just document my day gave me some peace of mind. I don't know if you guys will enjoy this at all but, here we go ...
Weak Strengths
Hello Hapi People!
I am going to hit the ground running this week with a lot of thoughts that will seem disjointed but just stick with me. I think in order not to upset anyone and to please everyone, people play things safe. I know that I am a people pleaser but I think I'm terrible at it. I want so badly to please people that I think I give up before I start sometimes. I'm so afraid of not pleasing that if I'm not around people - not contributing in their lives daily - that after awhile they won't want to talk to me. I'm never the one to speak first and it's something I regret. However, I can't change what has come to pass. My dad told me the other day - preempting the statement with "this is cliche" - that when one door closes another opens. I've stated that I don't know if this blog is a door to anything. I just want this to be a place to come and relate to people - I want to build a relationship here with readers. I think in order to build a good relationship I think you have to be fearless and trust yourself.

Hapi Weekend!
Hello Hapi People!
This has been a busy week with exams and I am helping my boyfriend with his school's spring play as we speak. I hope your week has been going well. I know its a busy weekend for many as I have many friends and fellow classmates who are graduating on Saturday. I am proud of of their success and wish them the best for the future. Congrats to everyone who is graduating this spring.
Anywho, I know my post was a bit more serious in nature yesterday so I thought I would celebrate the end of the week by sharing my plans for the end of the week. I saw the new Avenger movie last night and it was very good. Tonight I am taking a little road trip with my boyfriend, Zach, and we are going to Destin, FL and Atmore, AL. I will share pictures on Monday's post.
Let me know what you are doing this weekend - either in the comments, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
Peace&Love,
Amy

| I got one of these cool posters at the movie. I gave it to my sister who is a big fan. |
