Art Supplies Haul!

Hello Hapi People!

Today I am sharing with you some amazing deals I got on art supplies from Tuesday Morning and Dollar Tree. Yes, it's an art supplies haul! If you haven't been to Tuesday Morning, it is a discount store that carries home furnishings, craft supplies, bath products, and even doggie supplies. I ventured into a local Tuesday Morning to see if I could find anything for my Wreck This Journal. Here are some pics of my purchases that I got for a steal.

Inspirational Juice

Hello Hapi People!

I enjoy creating and writing, but doing these activities requires an inspired spirit. Today I thought I would share a few things that have inspired me lately. In case your inspirational juice is low, I would highly recommend checking out places like Tumblr, which is where I found a lot of my inspiration for today. I tend to be inspired by visual things like art or reading, but I am also inspired by music. So, I hope that what I share today inspires you. By the way, a quick thank you to all of you who inspire me to be consistent and creative.

How to Express Your Emotions in a Healthy Way

Hello Hapi People!

I hope you are all well and hapi! If not, I can completely relate right now. I'm not sure if it's because I'm back from vacation, lack of sleep, or if life is just bringing me down, but I'm feeling easily frustrated. (I tend to say "I'm just peachy" lol.) Anyhwo, in order to try to brighten my mood, I thought I would share some pics from my Orlando, Florida vacation. I also thought that I would share something that has helped me and is really something beneficial for everyone... Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

We Accept the Love We Think We Deserve

Hello Hapi People!

Today is a very special day. Its the 6th month mark of Zach and I's relationship. I'm not calling it an anniversary because it isn't technically a full year. However, 6 months is a significant amount of time to spend with someone. I know some of you are thinking, "Who cares?" lol, but I think it brings up an important subject.

Summer Road Trip Playlist

Hello Hapi People!

I was driving to see my boyfriend and have lunch with his grandmother, Nonna, today - hence why this post is coming out later in the day. Anywho, I was looking for music to listen to on my hour long drive and I discovered a playlist on Spotify. Spotify, a music app, creates a #ThrowbackThrusday playlist every week and sometimes they are ok but I gave this week's a try and I was blown away. The playlist was a mix of 60's and 70's, rock and folk music. I was impressed because it was filled with music that I grew up on from my dad's influence. The list consisted of a well-blended vareity of songs I had not heard in many years, and included exclusive interviews with members of The Grateful Dead. I was taken back to childhood and summer days, as I drove through the country. I will leave the link for the playlist below so you can use it for your summer road trips. I had a wonderful day spending tome in the country and having southern food with people I love.

Obedience School

Hello Hapi People!

I am a dog lover. My dog, Mazzy, and I are starting a new adventure this week - OBEDIENCE SCHOOL! My soon-to-be two year old maltese is a bit spoiled and needs some training. Today was our first day at class. Mazzy got to socialize with the other dogs and build some confidence - all in all in went very well.

Suminagashi: The Anciet Japanese Art

Graphic from Pugly Pixel.
Hello Hapi People!

My main goal on this blog has always been to share things that make me happy. Today I want to share a  hapi discovery I made this past weekend. I have always been a lover of art in every form, including visual art. Through my work yesterday on the blog design and using Pugly Pixel, I discovered some graphics in Pugly's store. The graphics were these beautiful marbled swirls called Suminagashi. I'd never heard the term before so I took to Google to find some answers lol. Here is what I discovered:

Suminagashi (墨 流 し) or "floating ink" is the process of marbling plain paper with water and ink to transform it into something vibrant and colorful. (from suminagashi.com)
